The Grissom High School Army JROTC Wounded Warrior 5K will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. at McGucken Park in Huntsville, AL.
Half of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project to help severely injured service members returning from duty. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors.
An additional percentage will help fund Color Guard, Rifle, and Military Skills Teams and other JROTC cadet activities. Grissom High School Army JROTC consists of over one hundred eighty cadets and is one of the largest programs in Alabama. The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens.
This 5K race will be held on a USATF Certified Course which begins at McGucken Park and will run south on Bailey Cove Rd to Green Cove Road. it will then turn right on to Aldridge Creek Greenway back into McGucken Park. The course is flat and supported by multiple water stations.
